Daylight Analysis

The 3D geometry model created in the Tas 3D Modeller is exported as a 3D dwg file. This file is opened in 'Lumen Designer' from Lighting Technologies Inc., providing photo-realistic visualisation, daylight analysis and much more.

EDSL recommends Lumen Designer for calculating daylight factors. Daylight factors are then used to schedule lighting controls in Tas.

Daylight analysis can be performed on the rendered model to determine the daylight levels on any of the internal surfaces. The engineer simply places a calculation grid where they require lux level information and then runs the daylight calculation.

Luminance lux levels can be displayed numerically across the calculation grids. Daylight factors are automatically calculated by the software and can be viewed on the grids.

EDSL provide a one day training course which covers everything you need to know to get up and running daylight calculations in Lumen Designer.

Lumen Designer can be purchased though EDSL or directly from Lighting Technologies Inc.
