National Gallery CFD Simulation of Design Summer Performance

The geometry for the internal courtyard and surrounding buildings is drawn into Tas. The model is zoned and the simulation undertaken using the new CIBSE Design Summer weather data. 

The cumulative frequency air and resultant temperatures for each zone are output into bar graphs in excel. A 3D CFD Ambiens model is created and assigned the results from the Tas Building Designer simulation as boundary conditions. 

3D CFD plots for Air temperature with velocities, Radiant and Resultant temperatures are shown in the report.
