Tas Free Trial
The free trial of Tas gives you the full Tas suite with no restrictions.
Step 1: Download...
Right click on the link below and select ‘Save Target As…’. In the resulting dialog box
select a temporary location for the installation file Tas.exe. The file is approximately
150Mb in size. This is the newest release of Tas.
The download takes approximately 10 mins with a broadband connection.
Step 2: Install...
Once downloaded select the option to ‘Open’ or run the file (if this option is not presented
simply run the executable from the temporary location you chose).
Follow the typical installation dialogs through to the finish. A shortcut to the Tas Manager
should have appeared on the desktop.
Step 3: Register...
Double click the shortcut to start the Tas Manager. Click the ‘Register’ button to bring up
the registration dialog.
Double click anywhere in the ID box to highlight the ID, then right click and select the
‘Copy’ option. Paste the ID into the Edit box on the Tas Demo Keys page.
Click here to go to the Demonstration Keys page and
follow the on screen instructions.
Once this process has been completed an Email will be sent to you containing your first 4 week
key. You will be able to return to the New Generation Keys page for one further 4 week key as
part of this demo.
Once you have received the Email, paste the key into the key box of the register dialog and
click OK.
The software is now ready to use.
Step 4: Getting Started...
There are detailed tutorials for each aspect of the software. You can find these by clicking on
'Tutorials' in the left pane of Tas Manager, or at our Documentation page. These tutorials are
updated with every new release of Tas.
After studying the tutorials you can create a new project by selecting ‘Tas Data’ in the left
pane of Tas Manager, then clicking the ‘Create Project’ button. Enter a name for the new project
and click ‘OK’. Make this project the current project by first clicking on it, then right
clicking and selecting ‘Set Current Directory…’. Next, to make a building in this project,
click the ‘Create Building’ button. This will start the 3D Modeller and the steps of the
tutorial can be followed. (Note: due to the behaviour of Windows 2000 and XP when you
‘Save As..’ or ‘Save’ your new file you may need to navigate to the current project as the
default behaviour in these systems is to always remember the last location a file was saved
by the current application).
Once a file has been created you can access it directly by selecting the project in the left
pane of the Tas Manager and then double clicking the file in the right pane.
