This page and the links on the left were developed some time ago while we were creating the New Generation of Tas. There have been some minor changes in the final release that are not shown here, but the overall structure and design is very much the same. We are working on creating a whole new web section devoted to our latest version of Tas (while retiring pages about the older 8.x versions) and have left this here in the interim. To see the very latest version you can take advantage of our Free Demo Download and take a look at the Getting Started Tutorial, once the software is installed. This tutorial has many videos demonstrating the use of the software.

Tas Revolution

Welcome to the preview page for the New Generation of Tas. This new generation of software has been developed over the past three years. It has,

  • a completely new interface with WindowsTM look and feel
  • a new more modularised design
  • new database technology
  • enhanced calculation procedures using the latest compiler technology.

What this means to the user

  • A more intuitive interface making the software easier to learn and remember. Undo/redo, drag and drop, context menus, floating toolbars, wizards etc. they’re all here, everything you’d expect from a modern WindowsTM application.
  • Instead of a single application performing many operations our new design has split the software into smaller more manageable programs. Each database is now a separate program with assignments implemented through ‘drag and drop’. The results are now viewed in a separate program with no distinction between Sequential or Batch runs. These distinctions between programs make the simulation workflow process for the user easier to discern.
  • The unified database system used throughout the package enables external data access by any Automation client (e.g. Word, Excel etc.). This means a separate report generator is no longer required as all Tas data can be accessed directly from Excel (or any other Automation client). Third party applications will be able to integrate easily by using the automation interfaces to input and extract data, even run simulations from an external application! Even very large simulation data files running into hundreds of megabytes can be manipulated with great speed by this technology.
  • Using the latest compilers gives access to dynamic memory allocation so there are now no more limits on numbers of zones, surfaces, windows etc. The size of your project is only limited by your PC specification.

Get a first look at what you’ll be using later this year.

Rather than try to detail all the new features, we are producing animated Flash demos of our current development software in use. You can see the new generation of Tas in action. The links to the left will take you to pages showing everything from building creation to simulation result viewing. Try to view these demos with sound enabled on your PC as there is commentary included.

The Flash demos are highly compressed meaning 1 minute of demo is less than 1 megabyte in size. Unfortunately this does mean the smooth operation of our software is not captured very well. But it does mean the animations and voice commentary are available even on a normal 56kbs dial up connection. The demos are available as streaming data or a standalone exe can be downloaded and then played.

As you will see we are very close to completing development and the subsequent full release.
