Expand the Heating Design Data folder, and then expand the relevant Heating Design Day (the number of Heating Design Days that are listed will be determined by how many you added in the Building Simulator prior to simulation). You will see on the Tree View a Zone Groups folder, a Zones folder, and a link to a page called 'Performance Summary'. This particular topic will describe the table which is visible on the right-hand side of the screen when you click on the Zones folder.
The Zones table will show a list of the zones that were output from the Tas Building Data (TBD) file. You will be able to assign zones to zone groups and output selections.
The 'Zones' table displays the following information:
Name
The name of the zone given by the user.
Description
This is detailed information about the zone.
Volume
The is the internal volume of the zone, it is measured in m^3. The volume given here will be the same size as the Volume value in the Zones table within the Building Simulator. This value cannot be edited in the Results Viewer or the TBD, the zone geometry will have to be changed in the 3D Modeller in order for this value to change.
Left clicking on the column header will sort the table alphabetically by parameter. Left clicking on the column header again will reverse the order.
To manually change the width of a column, left click and hold the left mouse button down while the cursor is over the line that divides the selected column header and the column header to the right of it, move the cursor to the left or right, and then release the mouse button.
To alter the width of the column to automatically accommodate each character for the zone with the longest name, double left click on the line that divides the selected column header and the column to the right of it.
To assign multiple zones to a zone group or output selection profile, left click on the '+' by the 'Zone Groups' or 'Output Selection' folder to show all of the profiles in the folder, and then left click on the 'Zones' folder to show the 'Zones' table on the right-hand side of the screen. Left click on a zone in the table to select it. You can select multiple zones by holding down the <Ctrl> button while left clicking on the zones. You can select a range of zones by left clicking on the first one in the range, hold down the <Shift> key on your keyboard, and then click on the last zone. All of the zones between the first and last zone will also be selected.
Once they are selected, move the cursor over one of the zone rows, hold down the left mouse button, move the pointer to the 'Zone Groups' or 'Output Selection' profile in the Tree View and then release the mouse button.
If you want to assign a single zone to a 'Zone Group' or 'Output Selection' there is a short cut. Left click on the '+' by the 'Zone Groups' or Output Selection' folder. Left click on the '+' by the 'Zones' folder to show all the zones. Point the mouse cursor over the appropriate zone icon in the Tree View, hold down the left mouse button, move the cursor to the 'Zone Groups' or 'Output Selection' within the Tree View, and then release the left mouse button.
Double clicking on a zone in the table will open the 'Zone' details window.
